Please join us on Oct. 21:
Open House 5-7 p.m.
Public Hearing 7:30 p.m.
Lane County Public Services Building, Harris Hall
125 East Eighth Avenue, Eugene
Public input has been and will continue to be important in the decision by the Eugene City Council and LTD Board of Directors on a preferred package of investments. That decision is expected in early 2020. Once approved, the preferred package will inform which projects are prioritized for construction over the next 10 years. The City and LTD will develop a plan for funding and timing investments, with the goal of using local dollars to leverage state and federal funding.
The Oct. 21 public hearing is your opportunity to weigh in and comment before City Council and the Board begin deliberations and adopt a preferred package. Your feedback is essential.
Here are the five updated investment packages:
The lowest-level investment package (considering both capital and operating costs) is all Enhanced Corridor, followed by three increasing investment levels in packages C, D and E. The highest-level investment package is all EmX (except MLK, Jr., where EmX was not considered). New packages D and E were added based on 2019 community feedback.
Your feedback is not limited to picking one of these. You are encouraged to comment and suggest any changes you think should be included in the final decision. Feel free to suggest any package of investments you think makes sense.
At the public hearing
If you can, arrive early. The earlier you sign up to testify, the earlier you get to speak.
Each speaker will get three minutes to weigh in on which investments they think make the most sense. Use this tip sheet to help you make the most of your time. Comments should focus on the project and which parts you agree or disagree with.
You can testify out loud and/or comment in writing — but written comments will not be read aloud. If you can’t attend the public hearing, use our comment form below. All written comments will go to City Council and LTD’s Board before they deliberate.
Please look over the resources linked from this page as a refresher on some of the project’s benefits and impacts. Don’t see the information you’re looking for? Email us and we will make sure you get the information you need.
